One copper electroformed Pyrite Coffin complete on a 50cm soldered gunmetal chain.
Chalcopyrite, also known as Peacock Ore, has lovely iridescent green, blue, pink, purple, and gold colors that resemble the vibrant feathers of a peacock. The colors of Chalcopyrite come from the oxidation of copper and iron in the stone. Pyrite's metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool's gold.
Pyrite is said to be a protective and shielding stone, excellent to wear as an amulet to deflect harm and danger. Coffins measure approximately 3.8cm x 2cm. Size, shape, color may vary as no two stones are alike.
Note: We apply liver of sulfur to form a black (gunmetal) patina on our copper. If a pendant is rubbing back and forth on skin it may start to lose its darkened appearance revealing the natural copper. Each piece is sealed with a metal sealant.
