Rich in pagan tradition, the corn doll is thought to hold magical powers and its presence is said to protect the home and family. Corn dolls were originally made by generations of farmers throughout pagan Europe.

Legend stated that the crops housed a spirit and to ensure the spirit was cared for during the winter, the last sheath of corn from every crop was collected and transformed into a doll. Kept inside the home, the corn doll would bring prosperity and good fortune for the household during the cold winter months before being ploughed back into the fields when the first seeds of the season were sowed.

Named in honour of Slavic deities, our Corn Dolls have been handmade, dyed and decorated in our Into The Black studio. Now you can own a unique representation of European Folklore!

Available in black, red and natural.

Made from natural corn husks. Dimensions, adornments and colour variation will occur between products due to the unique nature of the materials used to produce these items.
