Handcrafted Samhain Corn Doll Witch
Handcrafted by Into The Black, the Samhain Corn Doll Witches are made from orange and black corn husks. Each doll is dressed with a ribbon sash, a pentagram or goat charm, spider choker around her neck and a spider web cape. She holds black florals under her belt.
Rich in pagan tradition, the corn doll is thought to hold magical powers and its presence is said to protect the home and family. Corn dolls were originally made by generations of farmers throughout pagan Europe.
Legend stated that the crops housed a spirit and to ensure the spirit was cared for during the winter, the last sheath of corn from every crop was collected and transformed into a doll. Kept inside the home, the corn doll would bring prosperity and good fortune for the household during the cold winter months before being ploughed back into the fields when the first seeds of the season were sowed.
